Introduction of the European GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)

by Febe Pritchard May 2nd, 2017

With the impending introduction of the European GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), we have started helping clients with their preparation by recruiting candidates who can provide data quality and governance services to their business.

There is a growth in the awareness of this new regulation that will come into effect in the Spring of 2018. This is to replace the Data Protection Directive 95/43/EC and will enforce new policies on the processing of personal data of EU residents.  This could be a step into the unknown for many.

You may be looking for a Data Privacy Officer, build a dedicated GDPR team or add personnel to your compliance team to focus on the necessary changes. We have been meeting and talking to compliance and data protection candidates who are eager to support the enhancement of your existing processes to comply with the GDPR requirements. Their role is key to the implementation and delivery of the very important change in data privacy legislation which affects any organisation that collects European citizens’ data. We are happy to guide you on the essential skills and background the role will require.
