Are you an experience business developer who wants to work on building something that will really make a difference in the world?

A leading provider of research, comms service, consultancy, and evaluation is seeking a Head of Business Development for a key unit, the International Development Unit to join their team.

The agency works with private, public, and third sector clients in the UK and around the world, on work that really impacts people’s lives.

The main purpose of the role is to help grow a key unit within this global consultancy.

Core responsibilities include:

Providing strategic planning and insight in light of growth – actively seek out business development opportunities

Support the development and implementation of business development tools from lead generation to proposal writing across the function

Ability to identify key competitor activity and recommendations of different strategic to leverage advantage

Work with the technical teams to build resources to support bids, bid writing and management

Produce and develop marketing material/support external comms

The idea candidate will be a proven business winner, with a deep knowledge of trends, policies and procedures of a range of donor agencies, including EU, DFID.

Other key skills/experience include:

  • Solid and successful track record of leading and winning multi-million pound proposals
  • Ability to travel overseas
  • Able to design and implement business developing tools and desirable is experience in setting up a business development function
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, work collaboratively with senior level govt officials, public and private senior stakeholders and international organisations

Candidates with a background in M&E, economic growth, public sector reform and environment and natural resource management will be of particular interest.
