Survey Programmer: Looking for a role to build skills
I was approached by a candidate who had been contracting for several years but was now ready for a permanent role. She had previously been in permanent employment but decided in 2015 to start contracting to build a wide range of DP and Scripting skills. This was a unique candidate who needed more time to be ready to take all the experience gained into a permanent role.
In one of my regular catch-ups with a key client, we had discussed long-term plans for his DP & Programming team, and how this candidate might be just right as the agency had precisely the right culture for her.
There was no specific role or job spec, so I arranged for them to chat to scope the possibility.
After 2 interviews, including a technical test, she was offered the role, this took 6 weeks from our initial conversation to accepting an offer.
