15 years – Where did that go!?
“It takes a village to raise a child” is an old African proverb and one that I’ve been thinking about as Hasson Associates turns 15. The company is no longer a child, it’s a fully fledged adult and in that regard, I think it’s taken an entire ‘village’ to bring about its success.
When I formed the company, I needed a name quickly and so went with Hasson Associates, it was simple and I like simplicity. Over the years, however, I’ve realised that out of those two words the most important word by far is Associates, my name might be there, but it counts for nothing without others. It’s every single member of the team who’s been part of our journey, every Associate since the company was formed who has made an invaluable contribution to Hasson Associates and made it what it is today that has brought about our success.
I have spent my career advising companies on who they should employ, who are the candidates that would be a great fit and why they’re a great fit. Suggesting a risk here and there, maybe putting their faith in someone who doesn’t necessarily tick all the boxes. I’ve also advised candidates on what would be a good move for them and what wouldn’t be. How they should shape their careers to bring not only success but importantly satisfaction. When I look back over the years, I’m thankful for all the Associates that have played their part in the journey of the company, whatever their role. Some took a risk on me, coming to join me in a new start up, sharing not only their knowledge and experience to force our way into a competitive market but also their incredible reputations. Over the years I’ve taken a risk on others, some with little or no experience who I liked and believed in and they’ve repaid that trust tenfold. There’s no getting away from the fact that I’ve been incredibly fortunate, as a business owner you can only dream of a dream team and over the past 15 years, I’ve had several. Many Associates have stayed with me for many years, others have gone on to find new adventures either in recruitment or on a different career path but one thing is for certain, Hasson Associates has been the beneficiary of some fabulous talent along the way.
It takes an incredible band of Associates to raise a successful agency. Thank you to every single one of you for playing your part, I honestly couldn’t have done it without you.
