Tried, tested and approved.

Since the global pandemic, Hasson Associates has been both a flexible and remote working business. However, prior to the pandemic, this working model was already part of our future business plans and discussions on the transition were already taking place. (Cue the global pandemic to fast track the process!)

Flexi and remote working isn’t just a perk, it’s a strategic decision that benefits both the employees and the business for many positive reasons. That said, we still thrive on face to face meet ups and schedule weekly get togethers to collaborate, brainstorm and often indulge in a chatty team lunch which leads to a good boost in morale and the feeling of unity.

In addition to this, as the company’s Operations Manager, I have been trained as the in-house mental health champion to support employees who may feel overwhelmed, stressed or anxious whilst at work. Whilst I do not claim to be a professional therapist, I feel well equipped to be able to listen, advise and guide employees to get the appropriate support they need. (https://mhfaengland.org/)

We also provide each staff member with a yearly wellbeing budget to put towards the things that help reduce their individual stressors… from Pilates classes, swimming, passes to cinema subscriptions and therapeutic massages. Implementing this proactive measure helps individuals rest, relax, replenish, and release. This in turn reduces stress related illnesses and absenteeism whilst enhancing proactivity, creativity, and concentration.

Since 2008, when Hasson Associates Recruitment Ltd was launched, we have encouraged employees to maintain a healthy balance between work and their personal life by setting clear boundaries and respecting each other’s time off. We promote and foster a supportive team culture where individuals can openly express their feelings, be it good, bad or ugly, with the comfort of empathy, support and appreciation in return.

However, it is important to note that whilst these measures are helpful, they don’t and won’t eradicate stress entirely. Stress is something that we all live with from work, home and family… it’s hard to avoid! In fact, some level of stress is considered ‘healthy’. It’s been said that stress helps you meet your daily challenges and motivates you to reach your goals.

So, if you are reviewing proactive measures to mitigate the effects of negative stress in your workplace, consider adopting some of the above tried, tested and approved strategies. Your team will thank you for it!
