Should we stay or should we go?
Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?
It feels like this debate has been rumbling on for months now, and we have been bombarded with politicians making statements, celebrities making statements and the business community making statements. The noise around the arguments from both sides has become deafening but certainly none have given clarity.
We have faced a barrage of endless comment and rhetoric, with each side contradicting the other, without anyone giving any real substance to any of the points they try to make. It’s infuriating, it’s frustrating and as the owner of a small business the outcome will have a very real impact on my business and on my industry, so I have had to draw my own conclusions in this historic referendum.
At Hasson Associates we recruit for the market research & insight industry. It’s an industry reliant on the knowledge and experience of people not just here in the UK, but across the whole of Europe. Our clients are international and our candidates come from all corners of Europe. Those candidates make a valuable contribution to the research industry and I can’t imagine a research agency without representation from those countries.
We need to be able to continue to recruit across the EU member states, we need to continue to draw on that experience, to tap into a larger talent pool, to recruit the best and the brightest within our industry, and to look outward not inward. We should not be limiting our industry and our business, but embracing all that being a member of the EU has to offer. Simply put, any Brexit would make the UK a less attractive place to work and this affects not only my business but our industry as a whole.
My view, and I stress this is my view and not the collective view of the team @HassonAssociate, is that we are StrongerIN. #voteremain
