CV Clinic
I’m approaching my 3rd year at Hasson Associates and one of my tasks is screening CVs on a daily basis. It therefore surprises me how many CVs still lack the all important essentials when it comes to content and layout. I come across CVs with content that is too vague, have typos or that are inconsistent in format.
I was wondering what the reasons for this could be. Do people believe that a CV is not important? Is it inexperience or lack of time? As a recruitment agency, it is our goal to represent you in the best possible way to secure you a new role and that includes, putting forward CVs to our clients that impress on first glance.
It is for this reason that we decided to offer a free service to our registered candidates, to help them stand out a little more. We won’t re-write a complete CV, but we will offer guidance on how to improve layout and content.
At Hasson Associates we already give our candidates feedback if we believe that their CV is a little too unclear and/or whether it needs to be re-written. We have been able to give our candidates helpful recommendations on how to improve their CVs and it has always been much appreciated.
So, if you feel your CV needs the help of a magic wand, do get in touch with me on cvclinic@hassonassociates.com to see how I can be of help.
In the meantime, don’t forget that your CV is your chance to stand out from the crowd. It can be your entry ticket into a company and potentially into a new career and as such it is vital that you get it right.
